Salzburg Festival Whitsun edition

Happy new year! Make 2024 a year full of art and plan your first VoyagArt to Salzburg. The Whitsun edition of the Salzburg Festival from May 17th to 20th 2024 include Mozart’s Mass in C minor and his opera La Clemenza di Tito featuring Daniel Behle, Cecilia Bartoli and Ildebrando D’Arcangelo. In addition, Daniil Trifonov and Paavo Järvi will play Mozart’s symphonies Paris and Jupiter as well as his piano concerto No. 25. The festival will conclude with a gala celebrating Placido Domingo’s first appearance in Salzburg 50 years ago. Discover the whole programme here!

2024 also constitutes the 20th anniversary of the Museum of the Modern on the Mönchsberg. The museum got an uplift ten years later when it partnered with the Generali Foundation whose international, top-level collection came to Salzburg on permanent loan. The upcoming exhibition Breaking Down Walls! The collections will bring together the Generali Foundation Collection, the Museum’s own holdings, the Federal Photography Collection, and the Salzburg State Collection. Find your exhibition here!

And as indulging yourself in art should not stop here, why not dine at restaurant Ikarus? The restaurant is unique in at least two ways: First, it is located in the Hangar-7 at Salzburg airport, a modernistic glass and steel aircraft hangar. From the terrasse of restaurant Ikarus you overlook aircrafts, helicopters, racing cars that the energy drink producer Red Bull has collected over the years. Second, the restaurant hosts a different top chef from across the world each month. While it is very convenient for us, to experience international cuisine without travelling too far, it is more than remarkable how Executive Chef Martin Klein and his crew tune in to the style of the respective guest chef.
